Thanks, I needed that!

After at least two weeks of NO ESTATE SALES to speak of because of the beautiful snow, I found the perfect one today and spent three hours combing through boxes and piles of papers and stacks of fabric. In other words, I had a ball! I'm starting to post on the site, so check it out! http://www.thepaperfleamarket.com/

More cover fun

I literally just finished these two covers and COULD NOT WAIT to share. This book is so much fun, fun, fun! Front is above, back is below.
Here's the next cover front. I used a vintage piece of lace sleeve for the base of the tie ...
And the back ...
Started the interior pages yesterday; they'll be coming soon ...

New project

Between shoveling and processing orders (we're caught up thru Feb 12, folks!) I had a great need to create. A few weeks ago I learned about an online class by Mary Ann Moss called "Remains of the Day Journal"
I read about it on Pam Garrison's blog
I paid for it about 2 weeks ago and just yesterday I finally started the class! And OH MY GOSH! If you're a fabric and paper hoarder, this is the class for you! I finished my first cover last night (I say first because once I started going thru my stash, I pieced together 4 more!)Gonna go stitch just a little more tonight ...

Happy Heart Day

Been in a painting mood lately, so I did some paint-scraping and doodling on a few pieces of canvas the other day. I decided to do reds and pinks in honor of the upcoming holiday.
Later that evening, I decided to do a little stitching on the painted canvas and thought I'd make a little art block of sorts. Then my wheels got turning and I decided I'd make a little Valentine book. I gathered up all the red and pink and white papers I could find to bind in and, well, here's the result.
Because of all the crazy snow, I didn't get a chance to go out and get or mail candies and goodies, so this is an e-Valentine to all my family and friends. Hope your day is filled with love!

Journal update

Just had to share that according to the USPS, my journal reached its destination yesterday. Shwew ... Been spending a lot of time inside what with the 24+ inches of snow outside. And been having the feeling that I should be getting a lot more done with all this time! But no matter how much I do (create, organize, post, read, write, draw, paint, make, stitch), I feel like I have to do more. Anybody else ever feel like that? I need to heed the advice of this entry from my current journal ...

Sew what's new?

Been playing around with some stitching and painted canvas pages (was inspired by an article in the latest "Sew Somerset"). I like the idea of doodling with needle and thread!
And speaking of sewing, I've just posted a bunch of sewing theme kits to the store ... lots of goodies in these packs!

Journal Journey

Today I sent the very first art journal I ever made for submission consideration to Somerset's "Art Journaling" magazine. I've had the idea that I would submit it for over a year, and today was the day (deadline is Feb 15th). So with a great deal of angst, I hugged it tightly in its Priority Mail box and whispered "Come back to me safely" and put it in the mail box. Sigh. So it's done.

Paint -n- Post

So what does one do when there is over 2 feet of snow on the ground? Paint journal pages and post a LOT of new goodies to the store http://www.thepaperfleamarket.com What a great way to spend the day! Will get the orders out as soon as I can get to the post office.

Doodlin' around

Been so busy getting orders out before the big snow hits! Finally took a breather and did some much-needed journaling and doodling ... ala Diana Trout!
