Order help ...

Someone just left me a comment about placing an order ... but did not leave an e-mail address, so I can't reply. If that's you, please try again and include your e-mail address ... thanks!

Journal love ...

Last evening, I wrote the last words on the last page of my ledger journal … and I’m kinda sad about it … it’s been like a good friend since last November and I’m going to miss it …
As the number of blank pages grew smaller, I was thinking about which book to use next. And I kept feeling like I should use one that I’ve made. So I've selected this one which I made earlier this year when I took the online class "Remains of the Day" by Mary Ann Moss http://dispatchfromla.typepad.com/dispatch_from_la/rotdoci.html
I admit it doesn't feel 100% "right" (the pages are smaller, there are fewer actual pages, the format is completely different ...,) but I guess it’s kind of like a relationship … it’s hard to jump right into a new one with certainty when the prior one has literally just ended. So good bye old friend ... and welcome new :)

A st"inky" day

Have you ever put clothes in the dryer, turned it on and heard a clank-clank-clank sound and figured it was just a button or zipper banging against the side? So after a few minutes, you decide maybe you should check it out and when you open the door you find a pair of glasses? And then you look closer and you see a broken ballpoint pen? And then you see the ink all over the towels? And then you see the ink all over the inside of the dryer?
I have.
That's what happened to me yesterday. Rather than be upset, I was grateful it wasn't worse and that at least I had a home with a dryer in which I could do laundry ... there's a big long back-story behind this, but I won't go into it now ...
So, needless to say, didn't get too much done in the store today. But wanted to write and decided I needed to share another journal entry (this from last week). Summer ... it's winding down way too soon ...

Patterns, patterns, patterns!

Went to a sale yesterday and picked up a boatload of patterns from the 50s, 60s and 70s. And then today while I was organizing the garage (it *had* to be done), I found even more! Also found some of the little paper "fashion news" pamphlets they used to give out at the fabric store (I remember getting those when I'd go with my mom). Going to post them to the store in a little bit, but just couldn't wait to share! www.thepaperfleamarket.com

Little beauties

Just look at all these darling little compacts (although the one is not so little). Posting them to the store right now, so hop on over and get 'em before they're gone! www.thepaperfleamarket.com

Was ist das?

Look at this interesting little find. It appears to be calling cards with wishes of good luck, all in German. I'm just trying to decide if the fancy stitching went on before or after the cards were dropped off by visitors. I'm guessing the stitching was put on afterward ... anybody?
Going to post these to the store now ... www.thepaperfleamarket.com

Wild about dials

It's a very rainy, cozy day here on the east coast and I thought what better way to spend the day than tidying up the workroom. I am to the point where I literally have to step over piles (and dogs) to get from point A to point B. I have turned into my grandma (see my very first post). As I unearth treasures, I'm putting them up on the store, so it's kind of a win-win.
Here's a fabulous collection of dials and knobs I found on my most recent treasure hunt down south. Don't you just love the years of crud on the one? I figure a good soak in Spic & Span will take care of that (although some people like the crud). Anyhoo, these and a bunch of other things are on the site, so hop on over and take a look! www.thepaperfleamarket.com
