I heart vintage wallpaper!

I could barely contain myself when I found a trunk filled with vintage wallpaper at the Country Living Fair ... so I bought A LOT! I've started posting some, like this fabulous blue retro piece from about the 1950s. It even has a little sparkle! I'm offering them as 8 x 10 pieces (cause I love to use them in journals and they're easy to ship), but if you're interested in a bigger piece, just let me know. http://www.thepaperfleamarket.com/

Treasures from the Fair

I was completely blown away by the Country Living Fair in Columbus, Ohio! (That's me, rubbin' elbows with Sarah Gray Miller and Natalie Warady of Country Living magazine, Hillary and new friend Beth of Chick's Picks) The crowds, the shopping, the food goodies - all awesome! Some of my favorite vendors included Summer House NJ (http://www.summerhousenj.com/); Home Girl (http://www.homegirlshop.com/) and Thrifty Trixie (http://www.thriftytrixie.com/) I only had a limited time to shop, but managed to find some super good treasures!
My sweet little mother in front of the Home Girl booth ...
Trunks of wallpaper! (will be posting to the store soon)
This is Beth and she had a wonderful tale about her vintage parasol ... she was at the fair last year and complimented the young Asian woman who was carrying it. The young woman gave it to her, telling her that in her culture, if someone admires something of yours, you give it to them because you know it will be well cared for and that you will receive tenfold in return.
Teri of Thrifty Trixie -n- me. She makes the cutest dresses using vintage fabrics!

Off to the Fair!

I'm heading to the Country Living Fair in Columbus, Ohio this weekend! Chick's Picks (http://www.chickspicksbyhillary.com/) will have a booth there (along with about 175 other vendors) and I'm going to help my friend Hillary sell and restock and hopefully do a little shopping! I've been busy making bags and charm bracelet watches (like were featured in the July 2010 issue of Country Living) and am really looking forward to the experience. If you happen to be going to the fair, look us up! (we'll be in booth M208)

Vices

Got to one of my favorite flea markets yesterday ... it was a picture-perfect-blue-sky-not-too-hot-late-summer kind of day. I found a number of great finds, including this array of vintage packaging: ice cream, tobacco and prophylatics!? We've got all the vices covered!
I also found a great collection of beautiful cigarette silks (geez, more tobacco!) These would be wonderful in a fabric collage, quilt or mixed-media piece.
I'm starting to post these and lots more to the store, so hop on over and take a look. And enjoy your Labor Day holiday!
