I just love the South ... the ocean, the salt marshes, the huge live oak trees dripping with Spanish Moss. And the antiques. Stopped in adorable Walterboro, SC, last week. They boast over 12 antique shops in this little town plus the SC Artisans Center. I wanted to give Walterboro a shout out because it was very quiet the day I was there, and it seemed they could use a few more visitors. So if you're ever driving down I-95, take exit 53 in South Carolina and enjoy a couple hours in Walterboro ... and buy something!
Every storefront had a traditional red rocker out front ... except the Artisan Center which had their own unique interpretation of the rocker!
Check out these clever banks made with old post office box doors.
Upstairs at an antique mall ... oooooooh!
Love, love, love the pink bike ... too bad it wouldn't fit in my car.
Boxes and crates of goodies everywhere!
A step back in time on the main street.
If you do go to Walterboro, be sure to visit the little Hiott Pharmacy at the end of the main street ... and get a Coke float and a bologna sandwich from Karen at the lunch counter!
Hello! I'm Trina and this is the blog for The Paper Flea Market (which is becoming Jubilee Flea next month!) My online store and studio specializes in paper + fun old stuff. In addition to being a shopkeeper, I'm an artist and paper enthusiast. I adore paper and old things and see potential in everything. My artwork includes greeting cards, art journals, mixed media pieces and clever handmade home decor, and has been published in "Country Living", "Somerset Life", "Art Journaling" and "Greencraft" magazines. My cards were included in the book "1000 Handmade Greetings" and can currently be found at specialty boutiques across the country. I also sell my work at pop-up boutiques and flea markets. Please contact me for show dates and locations and for wholesale card orders at thepaperfleamarket@yahoo.com
