A great read!

Have you heard of this magazine? No? It's fab*u*lous! Their tagline is "a magazine for the creative and curious". I'll second that! It's not available at the big chain bookstores, so I recommend ordering your copy online: http://shop.uppercasegallery.ca/

Boots

I love boots. And I love McKenize-Childs. So imagine my giddiness when I saw these on the back cover of their recent catalog. They arrived today. Took me about 2 seconds to rip open the box and put them on. It's supposed to rain tomorrow ... yay ...

Three for you + one for me

No snow ... sigh. So today was clean up day around here and that means new stuff was added to the store http://www.thepaperfleamarket.com/ (that's the three for you part). New stuff like the tire compass above.
And this old elementary arithmetic book.
And milk caps
Friday I went to a barn sale and found this wonderful old market basket on wheels. I'm in love (that's the one for me part)

No regrets + waiting for snow

I can deal with a lot of things, but regret isn't one of them. Usually I'm pretty good about following my gut. But lately, I haven't been trusting my instincts and have regretted it later. So today I vowed in my journal that I will trust my instincts. There, I've said it out loud. No turning back now .

We're supposed to get snow tomorrow. Finally. Been waiting all winter for this. PS-I'm a snow girl.

Channeling my inner Eric Carle

You know? The author/illustrator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and so many others? Did you know he painted the tissue paper he used in his collages? The things you learn when you agree to go help the kids at elementary school! I painted a bunch of tissue papers this morning for them to use in their collages today ('cause I knew there wouldn't be enough time for them to paint, dry and collage). I am CRAZY about this technique! I'm off to go paste some in my journal now...

a WOW kinda day

Had a banner day at the thrift shop. Just look at these wool blankets. $2.99 each. Somebody pinch me! (and it gets better ... 25% off all purchases on Monday. Wahoo!)
Books galore!
Hmm, what's she gonna do with these, you may be asking yourself. Stay tuned ...
And anybody who knows me well, knows this is the most perfect find!
Hope your Monday is going great!

Checking things off the list

Just sent in a submission to Somerset for the Holidays & Celebrations issue ... it involved a lot of packing and bubble wrap and taping which explains why I think I've put if off for almost a year. So I can check that off the list! I'll let you know how it goes ... fingers crossed. In the meantime, here are a couple lovelies I found this morning with all of you in mind ... they're up for grabs at the store! www.thepaperfleamarket.com

New goodies + pinning

Posted a few new things over the last coupla days at http://www.thepaperfleamarket.com/ ... like this great department store sign (above)
And these cuuuute little letter cards.
All together, everybody .... awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Gimme an A!
Fab old envelope with equally fab negatives
Is anybody out there "pinning"? Today a friend of mine encouraged me to give it a go. (I got my "invitation acceptance" to Pinterest last May but didn't know what to do with it ... how embarassing). So if you're a pinner, let me know!

And the winner is ...

Radine! She came the closest to guessing the actual weight of the package which was a hefty 24 lbs! Thanks to everybody who played and for all the kind words! (Pssst ... Radine? I don't have your e-mail, so can you please send me a note to thepaperfleamarket@yahoo.com and I'll give you all the details about your prize)

Shopping in the country on a chilly day

There's a big Groundhog Day sale at one of my favorite shops every year, and I usually miss it. But this year I decided to drive myself on over and check it out. Wow ... Lots of it was outside and let me tell ya, it was chilly! I saw a girl dressed in just a blouse, skinny jeans and boots ... carrying a sign that read "Bring Back Common Sense". Made me chuckle ... where's the camera when you need it? Anyhoo, just wanted to share my afternoon with you. Enjoy!
Got the newspaper box! (did NOT pay $59)
I've been collecting these old vases for awhile for no other reason than I find them irresistable. A great idea for getting them out of the box and start using!

D*O*N*E!

I don't think I've ever mentioned that for about 20 years I've been making and selling handmade cards. Recently, I received an order for 576 cards, so for the past 3 weeks, that's what I've been up to. And literally 5 minutes ago, I FINISHED! The box is stuffed, packed and ready to go! The cards are on their way to a big store in West Hollywood, CA. Who knows? Maybe one of my little babies will be discovered... Anybody care to guess how much a box of 576 cards weighs? Closet answer wins a $10 gift certificate to the store (yeah, I feel like celebrating!) Please leave your guess as a comment (I won't make it public). Contest ends midnight, Monday, Feb 6. Yay-yay-yay-yay-yaaay-YAY!

Warm -n- fuzzy

I've been writing this phrase over and over and over (36 times for a card order) and it brought a smile to my face, so just thought I'd share + hope it'll do the same for you. Back to work ... still gotta add color and sparkle ... deadline, deadline, deadline.
