Herbarium anyone?

http://www.thepaperfleamarket.com/french-herbarium.html
I've admired these types of pieces framed in groupings at hotels and posh vintage shops. So imagine my delight when I found an entire portfolio of them! These pieces are from an herbarium, or systematically arranged collection of dried plants from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. Each is carefully mounted on paper with small strips of well-aged tape. And there's a label ... in French. Swoon! Available in the shop right now: www.thepaperfleamarket.com

Favorite find of the week!

My absolute favorite find of the week is this 19th century French pharmacy ledger! Each page is covered with elegant handwriting. I'm sharing the love ... you can get yours here.

Day 2 at Market

Day 2 proved to be just as fascinating. You can find *anything* here, like this French litter basket (which had my name all over it so I had to get...)

Colorful vintage kantha quilts from India cover these hat boxes. The riot of color is stunning!

This is a collection of pressed botanicals with accompanying descriptions in French! Look for these in the store soon.
