Giant Typewriter Eraser
This sculpture of a typewriter eraser comes from the pop generation of art. It was proposed in 1975, but not actually sculpted until 1999. Its current home is Olympic Sculpture Park, next to Elliot Avenue, just up from the waterfront. Artists: Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen.
Las Vegas:
This typewriter eraser, located in the City Center Mall on the Las Vegas strip, will be familiar to people who grew up in 1950s and '60s. The eraser was used to erase mistakes made while typing, and the brush was meant to brush away the residue. Most of us though, just blew it away.
