The typewriter

Anybody out there still own a typewriter? I've got a couple I like to use because in this age of perfectly kerned computer-set fonts, it's refreshing to see something typewritten with uneven baselines and faded characters. I've had a soft spot for typewriters for some time (oh my golly, did I ever tell you about the time I spent about 4 hours in a 100+ degree attic one August digging through old typewriters that were being given away ... for free?!? I came out sweaty and smelly and filthy and it was one of the best afternoons of my life!) But I digress ...

If you follow me on Pinterest, you've seen I post the magazine "Uppercase" in my book bag. Well, "Uppercase" is releasing a new book about the typewriter and all manner of typewriter memorabilia next year. You can read all about it and order your copy here: http://www.uppercasemagazine.com/typewriter

(Sub)Mission accomplished!

I finally did it! Anybody remember the giant ruffled tablecloth in shades of white I made a few years ago? I've been wanting to submit it to a magazine since the minute I finished it. Today I packed it up and sent it on its merry way. Fingers crossed!

Noodling around

Working on a new journal and going through some things I made awhile ago ... this fabric collage is going to be a cover ... lots of little fabric bits -n- pieces and a selvage, some ribbon, etc. I love this piece.

Have fun today!

You never know where you're going to hear a little tidbit of wisdom. This quote came from my guide when I was ziplining last week (yes, ziplining in South Carolina!) Deep down, I think it's something we all know. But it's good to hear from somebody else, so I thought I'd just journal it and put it out there for anyone who happens to stop by.

If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go out and have some fun today ... hope you do, too!
